I went ahead and set the DH/Non-DH lineups for all likely playoff teams and also brought up any players who were injured but should be available for the post season. Results are based on 1000 seasons simulated. Overall, things are looking up. We still have a ways to go balance wise but this is the first season I can remember where the favorite had under a 50% chance of winning the WS.

Florida Marlins: 2.7%

Krause, the former first overall draft pick in 2012, had disappointed ever since, with a career ERA of 5.07 with just 39 wins. Opposing batters are hitting .281 against him this season, despite his very good [...]]]> I’ve been informed of rumors speculating that the Marlins may be shopping starting pitcher Earl Krause in exchange for pitching prospects.

Krause, the former first overall draft pick in 2012, had disappointed ever since, with a career ERA of 5.07 with just 39 wins. Opposing batters are hitting .281 against him this season, despite his very good K/BB ratio. He was once touted to “turn the Marlins franchise around”.

Other spare parts for sale include Nelson Colomerero, Sim Blankley, and Nate Veeck.

It was the second deal of the day to be void by a NTC, when earlier in the day Tigers’ LF Cody Johnson refused to waive his no-trade clause to Florida.

Though, the Twins stay interested and now the Florida Marlins and the Baltimore Orioles may possibly be involved.

- The Twins have made an offer for Johnson, but it could have been interfered with when SP prospect Nathan Christie was moved to the Reds.
- The Marlins have reportedly been in on Johnson, and the Tigers have been known to be interested in their young pitching, specifically SP Ted Potter.
- The Orioles have not yet made an offer, but are known to like Johnson in the past.

Once again, the asking price for Johnson is known to be three good things, most likely involving a first round draft pick.

Update, 4:30: The Marlins and Tigers deal seems to have fallen apart due to Johnson’s NTC.
