It appears that, once again, pitching is at an extreme premium in this league. It’s showing. Jake Wayne looks like he’s well on his way to making 40+ million a season for the first time in Outahere history, for better or for worse. Mike Brown, who had a 5.18 ERA last year and a 4.65 career ERA has a bid standing currently at 13.5 million per season for 4 seasons. Meanwhile, outfielder Carleton Young, who has a career .829 OPS, was signed for 600k per year by the Desperados.
My strategy has always been to look for steals in free agency. Ever since I made a disaster of a move in signing Pascual Poveda to a long term deal, and having it backfire horribly, you will rarely, if ever, see me making a big move. So my advice would be to find low, under the radar pitchers who may put up good numbers, and BUY BUY BUY on offense. It’s cheap right now.
